Life sciences instrumentation design
A multi-talented team of scientists and engineers have successfully demonstrated their novel and cutting-edge biological cell analysis system. This high-tech scientific instrument uses a combination of microfluidics, a powerful optics system, and software to radically enhance the speed at which samples can be processed. With the initial design complete, a talented mechanical design engineer is sought to help improve and further develop the design as they head towards volume manufacture.
In addition to an excellent academic background, you will need:
- Strong track record designing complex mechatronics products in industry using SolidWorks.
- Good experience developing products through to manufacture and beyond.
- Knowledgeable with standard DFA/DFM techniques, specifically including plastic injection moulding.
- Additional expertise designing opto-mechanical or fluidic systems would be beneficial as would experience working in a regulated industry or working with outsourced development partners.
