Senior / Principal Flood Risk Consultant

Location: Cambridge or remote based with occasional office travel

Salary: up to 55k plus benefits

We are seeking a Senior/Principal Consultant with experience in 1D and 1D-2D hydraulic modelling in flood risk to join a multi-disciplinary team working flexibly from the Cambridge office and from home.



Responsibilities:

  • Build and run hydraulic models using Flood Modeller Pro and TUFLOW.

  • Prepare and review Flood Risk Assessments and technical reports.

  • Provide technical advice and mentor junior staff.

  • Manage projects across the UK, supporting planning applications.

  • Assist with project financial management and team resourcing.

  • Prepare fee proposals, bids, and tenders.

  • Conduct business development and liaise with clients and stakeholders.

  • Undertake site visits.



Requirements:

  • Degree in hydrology, geography, civil engineering, or related field.

  • Experience in hydrological analysis (ReFH2, WINFAP) and hydraulic modelling (Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW).

  • Familiarity with GIS, Microsoft Office, and the NPPF.

  • Ability to review models, mentor staff, and manage workloads.

  • Knowledge of drainage strategy and SuDS is desirable.
