We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Caretaker. This is a full-time permanent position working 37 hours per week and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.
Main Duties
- Ensure the security and care of school buildings, furniture, fittings, and equipment.
- Maintain a safe physical environment with an emphasis on day-to-day site management.
- Act as the focal point for health and safety, ensuring risk assessments and inspections are completed.
- Manage external contractors, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies.
- Respond to maintenance requests via Iamcompliant software.
- Utilise the Building Management System (BMS) for effective building operation.
- Carry out maintenance and repairs to buildings, furniture, and equipment.
- Provide occasional support to other Trust sites and act as a key holder out of hours.
The Successful Candidate
- Experience in customer service
- Committed and reliable, with strong interpersonal skills
- Flexible, professional, and proactive
- Proficient with IT equipment, especially computers
- Good understanding of Health & Safety principles
- Experienced in managing external contractors
- Trade skills and knowledge of general cleaning/maintenance (advantageous)
