We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Caretaker. This is a full-time permanent position working 37 hours per week and we are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.


Main Duties

  • Ensure the security and care of school buildings, furniture, fittings, and equipment.
  • Maintain a safe physical environment with an emphasis on day-to-day site management.
  • Act as the focal point for health and safety, ensuring risk assessments and inspections are completed.
  • Manage external contractors, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies.
  • Respond to maintenance requests via Iamcompliant software.
  • Utilise the Building Management System (BMS) for effective building operation.
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs to buildings, furniture, and equipment.
  • Provide occasional support to other Trust sites and act as a key holder out of hours.


The Successful Candidate

  • Experience in customer service
  • Committed and reliable, with strong interpersonal skills
  • Flexible, professional, and proactive
  • Proficient with IT equipment, especially computers
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety principles
  • Experienced in managing external contractors
  • Trade skills and knowledge of general cleaning/maintenance (advantageous)
