Temporary Vacancy – Student Personal Development Manager

Location: Cambridge, CB4 (Hybrid)

Duration: 3 to 6 months

Hourly Rate: Negotiable

Hours: 37 hours per week

The role wil be responsible for planning, managing, and implementing centrally devised personal development programme for students, adult learners, and apprentices. This includes creating materials for tutors and teachers, overseeing student voice programmes, enrichment activities, and events linked to national and local priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, development, and delivery of the personal development calendar, ensuring topics, events, and activities are relevant and in line with Ofsted requirements.
  • Develop and maintain tutorial resources (TMail) for all provision types, collaborating with curriculum and quality teams.
  • Deliver training for tutors on TMail topics and other elements of personal development.
  • Organize and manage Freshers’ Fairs, enterprise competitions, and other events.
  • Support student induction programmes to ensure an excellent student experience.
  • Oversee student voice processes, including recruitment and training of student representatives, departmental boards, and an annual student conference.
  • Coordinate and develop a cross-college enrichment offer, monitor engagement, and increase participation.
  • Support the Students’ Union Executives in promoting their work and engaging students.
  • Manage pastoral support for EHCP and high needs students studying vocational courses.
  • Plan and deliver intervention packages for students requiring support, working closely with curriculum and support managers.

  • Experience of delivering highly effective change improvements within student services settings
  • Examples of management reporting systems to enable improved student support processes
