Senior Electronics Engineer - £55-65K + bonus – Cambridge
A client of nGenium is seeking an experienced generalist engineer with an electronics focus. The ideal electronics engineer will have a strong background in electronics and the surrounding areas, such as software and mechanical integration. This role involves working with and within a team to develop and integrate a complex, high-tech system with challenging performance targets, including development of new electronic designs and modelling and investigation of the performance of the whole system, from software to mechanical, where high-performance electronics fits somewhere in the middle.
Responsibilities:
- Develop high-performance electronics within tight constraints from other components for the system
- Manage a small electronic engineering team
- Understand, troubleshoot, and optimize a complex, sensitive instrument.
- Work with software and mechanical engineers in the course of product development and maintenance
Must haves:
- Demonstrated professional experience designing and debugging electronics in the context a whole system
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- A proactive and results-driven approach to work
Desirable skills:
• Familiarity with PCB design in Altium
• Familiarity with embedded software, bare metal and/or embedded linux
• Familiarity with C, C++, Rust, and/or Python
• Experience with low-noise analog electronics design
• Experience with experimental data analysis for identifying sources of error in a system
