Principal Urban Designer Job in Cambridge, East Anglia
Principal Urban Designer job to be a part of a consultancy with an ambitious 3-year growth plan and a robust project pipeline across residential, renewable energy, and community sectors. Role & Responsibilities
- Develop masterplans for projects of varying sizes, from concept through outline and reserved matters planning applications.
- Take a lead role in the management of projects
- Work on large-scale masterplans and residential layout design primarily and other complex projects across various sectors
- Create strategic documents, such as vision statements and design codes, to guide and protect project development.
- Work directly with clients
- Collaborate with the Urbanism team and manage small teams, while also working independently.
Required Skills & Experience
- Qualifications: Degree, Masters, or Diploma in Urban Design, Architecture, or a related field within the Built Environment.
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of UK project experience
- Prior experience in private practice, consultancy, or commercial housebuilding; detailed design/RMA experience preferred
- Proficiency in CAD software; knowledge of Vector Works and/or SketchUp is a plus
- Familiarity with local authority guidelines and planning systems
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, with strong communication skills for effective collaboration.
