Astute's Renewables team is partnering with one of the most reputable sustainable energy companies in the UK and a pioneer in the sector. The company develop, construct own and operate their own renewable energy assets and we are looking for a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) to attend their sites in and around the Cambridgeshire/Suffolk area covering a mixture of EV chargers, large scale solar and battery storage assets.

The SAP role comes with a salary of up to 60,000, excellent development and progression opportunities, an electric vehicle with charge points on site and company benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will:

  • Routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on high-voltage (HV) networks.
  • High-voltage (HV) construction and commissioning work, including fault finding.
  • Writing HV switching schedules and performing HV switching to ensure Safety from the System.
  • Issuing Safety Documents in line with company Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Supervising third-party contractors and ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Leading HV fault investigations and producing detailed reports.
  • Supporting the training and assessment of Field Service Engineers in HV operations.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Authorised Person (SAP) with HV work experience up to 33kV (private networks).
  • Experience with HV switchgear commissioning, cable testing, and construction.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Working knowledge of G59 and G99 relays.
  • Experience managing on-site staff and contractors.
