Assistant Technical Manager - This pivotal role in the quality assurance and technical processes across their operations, ensuring that all products meet food safety and quality requirements and company standards.

*Key responsibilities*
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance (QA) team, providing guidance, support, and training.
- Lead the HACCP team and implement process and HACCP related functions across site
- Ensure the QMS is fully integrated into the operations and supporting departments for consistent working across the business
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of facilities, processes, and products to identify areas for improvement.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain.
- Manage the Company's adherence and completion of all audits, internal and external requirements. Manage effective and regular communication internally and to external customers and suppliers on all quality related matters when required
- Handle non-conformances, lead root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics and areas of concern/improvement.
- Manage customer complaints and develop strategies to reduce and resolve issues promptly.
- Arrange and coordinate lab sampling - reporting - defining testing limits and criteria.
- Analyse and implement corrective actions for out of specification results. Assess the sampling conducted by the business and continually review to ensure that the correct level of testing is being undertaken

What you'll need:
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, including HACCP, BRC and third party accreditation standards/certifications
- Experience of major grocery retailers
- Proven experience in leading a team and managing quality systems in a manufacturing environment.
- *Desirable A degree in Food /Food Science or a related field.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
