Permanent Vacancy – Communications and Events Manager

Location: Cambridge, CB2Salary: £37,000 - £40,000 per annum, depending on skills and experienceHours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per weekContract: Permanent

You will play a pivotal role in supporting the creation and delivery of a alumni relations strategy. You will manage all aspects of the alumni programme, including publications, communications, and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Support the Development Director in creating and delivering a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy to ensure a pipeline of engagement in support of the College’s activities.
  • Event Management: Oversee the planning and execution of alumni events with the support of the Alumni Relations and Events Officer. This includes attending events in Cambridge and elsewhere, which may occur on weekends and/or evenings.
  • Communications: Develop and implement the ADO communications strategy, including managing the production of the annual Alumni magazine, The Wheel, and digital engagement programmes.
  • Content Creation: Produce creative content such as graphics and films to support ADO activities, and coordinate communications with the College Communications Manager.
  • Website Management: Oversee the ADO pages on the College website, ensuring content is up-to-date and engaging.
  • Volunteer Coordination: Act as the key contact point for alumni volunteers, including the St Catharine’s Alumni Society Committee and Branch Chairs.
  • Career and Networking Engagement: Manage the careers and networking engagement between students and alumni, liaising with the University Careers Service.
  • Team Management: Directly manage the Alumni Relations and Events Officer, including conducting annual appraisals.

About You:

  • Proven experience in alumni relations, event management, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively within a team.
  • Creative and strategic thinker with a proactive approach.
