Role Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a portfolio of audit clients, ensuring audits are planned and completed efficiently to high-quality standards.
  • Oversee the entire audit process, from planning and fieldwork to completion and reporting.
  • Manage audit teams, providing training, support, and performance feedback.
  • Review statutory accounts prepared by junior team members for SMEs, charities, and owner-managed businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  • Provide technical expertise and advice to clients on complex accounting issues.
  • Act as the primary contact for a diverse client portfolio, fostering strong relationships and understanding their needs.
  • Offer strategic advice and support to help clients achieve their business objectives.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff, ensuring they meet their personal and professional development goals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategies and processes.

Personal Requirements

  • ACA/ACCA qualification (or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience in audit and accounts.
  • Strong technical expertise in audit methodologies and accounting standards (UK GAAP, IFRS).
  • Proven experience managing audit assignments and a track record of delivering high-quality work to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build client relationships and lead a team.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset with strong organisational skills.
