Credit Manager

We are currently working with a large, Cambridge based technology company looking to appoint an experienced and dynamic Credit Manager at their shared service centre. This role involves building, managing, and driving a high-performing credit control and receivables function, ensuring standardised service delivery and high-quality results that align with their customer service standards. You will have the opportunity to own and deliver plans for continuous improvement and evolution of the shared services.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Act as the main focal point for managing finance transition projects and continuous improvement projects impacting the AR function, including planning, resourcing, knowledge transfer, readiness assessment, and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate with the Process Ownership team and SSC counterparts to align SSC processes with global processes and best practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of internal controls, risk, and control matrices in conjunction with internal audits.
  • Review policies, ensure adherence, identify areas for improvement, implement corrective actions, and enhancements based on control reviews and audit findings.
  • Manage escalations to address and resolve issues related to the AR function.
  • Manage the closure of disputed debts, collaborating with finance and business teams to resolve issues and collect cash.
  • Identify the root cause of disputes and ensure action owners are identified to reduce future issues around debt collection.
  • Lead, monitor, and improve the performance and efficiency of the I2C function using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and associated reports.
  • Maintain the service catalogue for the I2C function, identify gaps in services with an action plan to address, and ensure consistent operation without regional nuances.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment to functional and organisational goals.
  • Manage the AR team across all entities and countries in scope, setting clear objectives aligned with functional and organisational goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience (at least 3 years) in a similar role, ideally gained within a finance shared service centre.
  • Experience leading and managing a team, including team development and career management.
  • In-depth knowledge of AR and credit control processes, including controls and compliance requirements.
  • Proven track record of using KPIs to improve performance.
  • Ability to operate comfortably at both detailed and strategic levels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in utilising ERP systems and other AR related software.
