Finance DirectorLocation: Hybrid – Cambridge, UK (occasional travel to London)Contract Type: PermanentWe are currently seeking an experienced Finance Director to join an innovative and fast-growing biotechnology company. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the finance function at a pivotal stage, as the company progresses towards clinical trials.The RoleReporting to the Executive Leadership Team, the Finance Director will be responsible for:
  • Leading and developing the finance team
  • Managing financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow
  • Preparing financial reports for senior leadership, the Board, and investors
  • Ensuring compliance with UK and US financial regulations
  • Overseeing payroll, expenses, supplier payments, and financial systems
  • Administering share option schemes and ensuring IFRS2 compliance
  • Supporting fundraising activities, including equity and debt financing
  • Strengthening financial controls, policies, and risk management processes
The CandidateThe ideal candidate will have:
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification
  • Experience in a Series A/B/C stage biotechnology company (clinical stage preferred)
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
  • Expertise in financial reporting, risk management, and compliance
  • A hands-on, proactive approach with excellent problem-solving abilities
