Our client in Cambridge is looking for a Finance Manager to join them on a permanent basis.

The Finance Manager is a critical role in this growing organisation. You will be responsible for management information, business planning, decision support activities, and statutory reporting. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will support the development and delivery of all financial management and controls. You will also work closely with the Finance Assistant, IT team and the outsourced Payroll provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Budgeting, Forecasting, and Management Information: Provide high-quality management information, reports, and analysis. Lead the financial planning process and develop information systems to support business decisions.
  • Financial Management and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and best practices. Oversee year-end audits, manage key financial systems, and ensure all taxes are paid. Lead financial tracking of external contracts and provide procurement support.
  • Key Relationships: Maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders as well as facilitating effective liaison and participate in relevant working groups and projects.
  • Corporate Duties: Promote a culture of innovation, risk management, and high standards of health and safety. Ensure compliance with data protection laws and support the organisation in developing a collaborative working environment.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications and Experience: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or Qualified by Experience
  • Knowledge and Understanding: Best practices in financial processes and controls
  • Skills: Ability to work independently, excellent communication skills, strong Excel skills, proactive approach, and excellent team working and networking skills.
  • Disposition/Aptitude: Professional, calm, and efficient manner. Willingness to drive internal innovation and set high standards for self and others.
