Financial Services Centre Lead, Cambridge

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000

Fixed Term: 2 years

Reed Finance are seeking a Financial Services Centre Lead to oversee and enhance the financial operations for our client in Cambridge. In this pivotal role you will develop and implement financial strategies, manage financial systems, and lead transformation projects to establish a new operating model for the finance function.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership to the financial operations team, ensuring efficient and accurate execution of daily processes.
  • Design and develop a scalable service centre model that optimises operations and enhances customer experience.
  • Oversee the implementation of financial controls and processes across the organisation.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to manage the organisation’s financial framework.
  • Responsible for the design and establishment of a new style of finance function, gaining buy-in from key stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement KPIs and SLAs to measure and optimise team performance.
  • Oversee all financial systems and internal controls, including the strategic management of systems.
  • Provide professional leadership and development opportunities to finance staff.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Strong experience within a finance function in a large, complex organisation.
  • Substantial experience in staff management and leading large teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple competing deadlines across various subject areas.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of preparing detailed reports and presentations.
  • Ability to communicate complex accounting issues to non-financial professionals.
  • Effective in planning and implementing financial projects across a large and diverse organisation.
  • Fully qualified accountant or equivalent, educated to degree level.
