Location: Offices west of Cambridge, Cambridgeshire

An ambitious and growing firm of accountants with offices in Cambridgeshire and London, specialising in providing services to a wide range of clients, from small and medium size growth businesses and individuals to multinational corporations. Due to its ongoing growth the firm is looking to fill a Manager position at their Cambourne offices.

Reporting to Partner level, and at an important time in the firm’s continuing development, this role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Accountant to not only help manage an existing portfolio of clients, but also to grow the business.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • manage a substantial portfolio of client accounts;
  • working with senior colleagues in furthering the goals and ambitions of the firm, particularly in the provision of a high quality service to its existing client base, and helping to develop new business;
  • management of an existing team, comprising Team Leader, semi-seniors and junior colleagues;
  • updating and maintaining accurate records on the internal management system;
  • making suggestions on how to improve the firm’s workflow processes and procedures;
  • other duties as may reasonably be requested from time to time

Experience required for the role:

  • will be fully qualified, preferably a member of CIMA, ACCA or the ICAEW, with PQE;
  • applications from part-qualified individuals with extensive work experience will also be considered;
  • must have demonstrable experience of successfully dealing with clients directly;
  • must have experience of managing less senior colleagues in a practice environment.

Person Specification:

  • an established professional with proven leadership capability;
  • this position requires confidence, flexibility and enthusiasm;
  • must be a clear communicator, possessing excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • presentable, courteous and polite.
