Butler Rose is delighted to partner with a prominent, top 40 accountancy firm in Cambridge, in their search for a driven and detail-oriented Accounts Semi Senior to join their dynamic team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work directly with senior team members and gain broader technical knowledge through hands-on, challenging assignments. This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, ideal for an aspiring accounting professional eager to progress within a supportive environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Complete and finalise moderate to larger assignments with minimal supervision.
  • Resolve basic client queries directly, proposing practical solutions.
  • Conduct accurate tax computations for VAT, corporation tax, and personal tax.
  • Understand assignment plans and effectively communicate them to team members.
  • Coordinate workload with Senior staff, providing regular updates on assignment progress.
  • Review and finalise work independently before submission for management review.
  • Perform management accounting assignments as needed.
  • Contribute to client system improvements and suggest efficiencies to enhance assignment profitability.

Personal Requirements

  • AAT qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of corporation tax, personal tax, VAT, and annual/management accounts.
  • Proficiency in Sage, Xero, and QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong organisation and time-management skills, with a proactive approach to workload and team support.
  • Excellent communication skills, confidently engaging with clients and colleagues alike.
  • Professional presentation, reliability, and a client-centric focus.
