Salary: £8.60 per hour
Hours: The nursery staff work five days, Monday to Friday between 8.30am-5.15pm.

The Role
DO SOMETHING BIG, WORK WITH SMALL CHILDREN
Exciting opportunity to work in a brand new children's day nursery in central Cambridge. The new nursery property is undergoing conversion in Cambridge and the target date for opening is April/May 2025. The new nursery will be managed by a childcare company, who are a highly regarded and successful in Cambridgeshire. The successful candidate will start their Company induction at another site in Cambridge, (as soon as available) in preparation for relocation to the new site opening in April/May 2025. The nursery has the capacity for 44 children split between three rooms; 0-2 years, 2-3 years and 3-5 years. The nursery employs 8 full and part-time staff and is open from 8.30am – 5.15pm 52 weeks a year.
Key Responsibilities
- Learning how to be an outstanding Nursery Practitioner, whilst working alongside experienced colleagues. You will attend webinars during the day and complete written college work at home. You will be supported by a mentor throughout the training course, which takes 12-18 months to complete.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with children and outstanding parent partnerships.
- Providing a safe, hygienic, caring and stimulating environment for the children.
- Ensuring that the physical, emotional, social and intellectual education and care provided to children is of the highest standard.
- Planning, carrying out and recording fun, inspirational and educational play and learning opportunities.
Skills and Qualifications
- English & Maths GCSE's at grade C or functional skills level 2 in English & Maths is required.
