Principal RF Engineer

Principal RF Engineer:

As part of the RF team, your role as Principal RF Test & Development Engineer will be to have technical responsibility for designing, testing, and delivering high performance radio subsystems across a range of wireless communications products.

Essential requirements are:

• Degree or diploma in Electronics Engineering.
• Considerate experience of commercial RF design experience
• Transmit chain design, including design of discrete PAs.
• Receive chain and synthesizer design.
• RF simulation tools (e.g. Microwave Office, ADS, Python) for linear and non-linear simulation.
• Strong fundamental analogue electronics.
• Printed coupler design.

Desired Skills:

• Strong foundation of experience in narrow band RF circuit design and analysis, antenna design or broadband wireless communication systems such as LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or GPS.
• Cartesian loop transmitter design.
• Transmitter linearization techniques e.g. pre-distortion (analogue/digital).
• Specific experience of designing for TETRA, LTE, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth.
• Antenna design.
• Design for ESD and EMC compliance.
• Transmit converter specification (SNR, rates).
• Proven industry experience.
• Strong understanding of product development lifecycle principals.

Location: Cambridge
Salary: £60-70K plus annual company performance bonus, pension, private healthcare, dental plan, income protection plan, free parking, great restaurant facilities and an early finish on Fridays.
