As the Sea Freight Logistics Sales Representative for our clients Cambridge Branch, you will be in a customer facing role to develop and promote the growth of their sea logistics business
Your Role
Our Sea Logistics Sales Representatives have a clear focus on new business in the Small & Medium Enterprise (SME) segment. They have a thorough, up to date and in-depth understanding of the trade-lane(s) in terms of the geography of the trade, and the service offerings such as sailings, transit times, reliability, specific country documentation regulations, local standards, operational requirements, as well as the type of industry/goods/commodity traded on particular routes. The Sea Logistics Sales spend most of the time in customer-facing activities, hunting for a new business, and they work hand in hand with the Customer Care teammates.
Your Responsibilities :
- To generate new business opportunities with a clear focus on SME
- To inform pricing decisions in alignment with the relevant stakeholder
- To help prepare and submit quotations to the customers
- To demonstrate Sea Logistics products and trade knowledge
- To deliver presentations about our main Sea Logistics products
- To monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing & products
- To report customer complaints to the Customer Care team
Your Skills and Experiences
- You demonstrate a successful track record as a sales representative in the freight forwarding industry
- You have strong communication skills and show the ability to build customer 'value propositions'
- You are dynamic, proactive, ready to go out and not afraid to pick up the phone and meet people
- You have experience in working within a targeted new business environment and develop sales leads
- Additionally, you know how to manage and work with existing Customer portfolios/pipeline

For the Sea Sales Representative, based remotely close to Cambridge, you will be working and travelling around East of England so they need to come from and/or know the region professionally speaking. There is one mandatory office day per week on Mondays since that's when the team gathers.
The salary is circa 50K pplus car/allowance and good commission based on volume
For every new piece of business they bring in
- 16£/TEU on import
- 24£/TEU for export
Commissions are uncapped.
