Are you a Senior UX Designer looking for your next challenge?
We are seeking a Senior UX Designer to join the team at one of our esteemed clients, a leading software consultancy who provide innovative software solutions across UK government organisations and are gearing up for exciting new projects.
The team works closely with the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Home Office and other related organisations to deliver exceptional user experiences. As a Senior UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping their development projects.
This will be a hybrid role predominantly but due to the nature of certain projects, there will be some periods where you are required on-site 5 days a week.
What you'll do:
- Lead the planning of all UX-related activities, from initial discovery through to research, analysis, and user testing.
- Work as part of multidisciplinary teams, including Business Analysts, Developers, and Delivery Managers, to capture insights and perspectives for effective design responses.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and marketing teams to align designs with user needs and business goals.
- Develop and maintain a scalable design system to ensure consistency across digital products.
- Lead and conduct user research studies, including user interviews, stakeholder workshops, focus groups, and user testing.
- Run effective workshops from initial planning and design through to client engagement, facilitation, and translating outputs into deliverables that enhance the UX of a project.
What you'll need:
- You will need experience in the defence sector as a minimum, ideally working with the MoD.
- Comprehensive understanding of the full UX lifecycle, including methodologies, tools, and techniques.
- Proficiency in a wide range of user research techniques and analysis, such as Contextual Inquiry, Ethnographic Research, Workshops, User Interviews, Empathy Maps, and validated learning.
- Experience working in agile environments using methodologies such as Scrum and Kanban.
- High proficiency with design tools, including Figma.
- Experience working with customers and users to gather requirements and translate them into effective design solutions.
- Appreciation for accessibility and awareness of WCAG standards.

- £70-80k salary depending on experience.

Clearance Requirements: Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate must be eligible for security clearance. To qualify, you must be a British Citizen and have lived permanently in the UK for the past 5 years.
