Core duties include:
- Effective communication with internal and external customers, including promoting the importance and benefits of safety engineering.
- Advising the Chief Engineer and the wider engineering function of significant changes in safety regulation, guidance or Customer safety policies and procedures
- Ensuring in-house safety engineering processes are current, effective and best support the overall engineering process
- Providing coaching and guidance in safety engineering processes, tools and techniques to the engineering function, including Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA), Particular Risk Assessment (PRA), Zonal Hazard Assessment (ZHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and delivery of a comprehensive safety argument to demonstrate achievement of the applicable safety objectives
- Generate, review, and approve safety engineering task estimates and be responsible for the delivery of the safety product to agreed time, budget, and resource
