We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Carpentry to provide high-quality teaching and access to learning, supporting the development and expansion of our Construction & Building Services programmes. This role is ideal for someone passionate about education and skilled in carpentry, ready to contribute significantly to course design and programme development.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and learning across various programmes, catering to learners of different ages and abilities.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, and electronic resources.
  • Prepare and execute Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
  • Undertake administrative tasks essential for the effective operation of programmes.
  • Conduct moderation, assessment, and verification activities.
  • Integrate Maths & English into the vocational curriculum and support learners in achieving their targets.
  • Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students and participate in promotional events.
  • Maintain professional standards and adhere to college policies, particularly in relation to health and safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Level 2 vocational qualification in Site Carpentry.
  • Certificate in Education/PGCE/DTLLS/DET or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Substantial, recent, and relevant industrial experience.
  • Experience in lecturing or training within the industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of current Carpentry curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and educate people of all ages and abilities.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
