We are seeking a dedicated Maths Lecturer to join our academic team at a reputable college in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Functional Skills and GCSE Maths to learners on Construction courses, with varying levels of ability and confidence from Entry Level to Level 2. This role requires a passionate educator who can deliver high-quality teaching and learning, both face-to-face and online, and who is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Deliver inspirational teaching and access to learning across a range of programmes, including evening and non-term times.
  • Prepare and adapt teaching materials, Schemes of Work, and Schemes of Assessment to enable all learners to progress.
  • Undertake administrative tasks required for the effective operation of programmes.
  • Carry out moderation, assessment, and verification duties.
  • Contribute to the College quality cycle and integrate personal development themes into the delivery model.
  • Undertake tutorial responsibilities, track and review student progress, and provide feedback.
  • Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students and participate in promotional events.
  • Maintain communication with external bodies and promote new learning opportunities.
  • Actively advance equality of opportunity within the College community.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A relevant Degree in Maths or a closely related field.
  • Maths A Levels or equivalent, grade C or above.
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards obtaining one.
  • Experience of teaching Maths at Functional Skills or GCSE level.
  • Highly motivational teaching skills and effective team working skills.
  • Organisation and planning skills, with the ability to use ILCT in the classroom.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, supportive attitude towards colleagues.
  • Awareness of Equality, Diversity, and safeguarding issues.
