Are you a compassionate and dedicated individual with experience in supporting students' learning? We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a lovely mainstream primary school in Cambridge.

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a specific student, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs. Your role will be to assist the student both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring they have access to a full and inclusive education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a student with specific learning needs
  • Support the student's academic, social, and emotional development
  • Assist with classroom activities, following the teacher's guidance
  • Help with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment
  • Monitor and track the student's progress and report any concerns to the class teacher
  • Support the student with their personal care needs (if required)
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other staff to ensure the student's success

About You:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has prior experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
  • Has a strong understanding of supporting children with special educational needs (SEN)
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and patience
  • Is proactive, adaptable, and able to work on their own initiative
  • Holds relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent)
  • Has an understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
