Reed Further Education is working with a college based in Cambridge who are searching for a SEND lecturer (supported learning lecturer) with a focus on creative industries. Job Title: SEND Lecturer (Supported Learning Lecturer)

Position: Part-time, 22 hours

Role type: Fix term contract until Sept 2025

Location: Cambridge, CB4

Salary: £16,306 to £24,003 pro rata per annum (Full-time equivalent £27,425 to £40,369)

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Course Team Leadership: Act as the lead tutor for a group of students with moderate entry-level learning needs, overseeing the Introduction to Creative Industries course.
  • Curriculum Design: Develop comprehensive schemes of work, learning resources, and assessment schedules tailored to capture RARPA outcomes and accredited qualifications.
  • Quality Assurance: Engage in internal Quality Assurance processes and ensure accredited work is prepared for sampling within set deadlines.
  • Teaching English and Maths: Deliver English and maths education at Entry and Level 1, preparing students for functional skills qualifications.
  • Student Support and Liaison: Conduct regular tutorial meetings and maintain communication with parents, carers, and professionals, ensuring effective support and progress tracking.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A relevant teaching qualification e.g certificate in education, PGCE, DTLLS, or DET.
  • Creative subject, art, drama, music, media qualification or diploma in specific learning difficulties.
  • Experience working with students with learning disabilities.
  • Proficient in teaching English and maths at Entry and Level 1.
  • Familiarity with RARPA processes and EHCP targets.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, coupled with excellent communication abilities.
