TimePlan Education is working with a well-established college in Cambridge to recruit a passionate and experienced SEND Lecturer. The successful candidate will be dedicated to supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and helping them achieve their full academic potential.

Role Overview:

As an SEND Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, inclusive teaching to students with diverse needs, ensuring that each individual receives the tailored support they require to thrive in a college environment. You will work closely with support staff and learning assistants to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, adapting your teaching methods to meet the needs of all learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons to students with SEND, supporting their academic development.
  • Create individualized learning plans and assessments, ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to meet their goals.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of educators, SENCo, and learning support assistants to ensure a holistic approach to student progress.
  • Assess and track student progress, providing feedback and implementing interventions where necessary.
  • Contribute to the development of SEND-related resources, materials, and programs.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment, promoting independent learning and self-confidence.
Key Requirements:
  • Relevant teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in teaching students with SEND, ideally within a further education setting.
  • Knowledge of SEND strategies, learning styles, and best practices for inclusive teaching.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs.
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment and supporting students to reach their full potential.
