Following recent expansion, our client - a high-performing multi-academy trust - has created a new role within their central HR team. They are looking for a Head of HR Business Partnering & Operations who is passionate about HR, strategic in approach, dedicated to developing others, and aligned with the trust's core values. As a key member of the senior management team, you will oversee the delivery of a pragmatic and strategic HR service to all stakeholders.

This is a pivotal role where you will provide leadership to the HR Business Partnering and Operational teams, and work in close collaboration with the Director of People.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Head of HR Business Partnering & Operations:

  • Providing expert professional advice to the senior managers and deputies for the Director of People in their absence.
  • Being responsible for driving, developing, and delivering people strategies and plans, and end-to-end HR services. This includes aspects such as strategic workforce planning, employees’ relations, TUPE, building capability, equality and diversity, talent management, new service delivery/models and organisational change.
  • Providing an exceptional HR business partnering and operations service. Delivering a high quality service with performance metrics and service/system improvement processes to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Providing leadership to the HR Business Partnering and operations teams by encouraging and enabling individuals and teams to be the best that they can be by regular feedback, development, and coaching.

The post holder will be office-based 2-3 days per week. Given the nature of this role, the role holder needs to be able to easily travel between sites. Non-term time will be working from home the majority of the time.

What you will need to succeed as the Head of HR Business Partnering & Operations:

  • Extensive HR management experience in either a generalist or specialist environment.
  • MCIPD or equivalent experience/qualification.
  • Experience of working on and leading complex change projects.
  • Good management and leadership skills along with the ability to analyse problems at strategic and operational level.
  • Be able to travel to meetings across the local area (West Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex).
  • Experience of working with Trade Unions (Desirable).
