Are you an experienced HR professional looking for a dynamic role in a supportive and rewarding environment? Join the team as an HR Adviser and contribute to the development and success of the college across both our Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses.About the Role:As an HR Adviser, you will be a key part of a dedicated team, providing an outstanding HR service across both campuses. You will be responsible for offering expert advice and support on all HR issues, working closely with managers to ensure HR policies and procedures are effectively implemented in line with College objectives.Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with managers to support the effective implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, induction, and probation processes, including strategies for ā€œhard to fillā€ vacancies.
  • Advise on absence management, occupational health referrals, and ensuring clear communication of the process.
  • Support investigations, disciplinary, and grievance processes, ensuring compliance with college policies and legal requirements.
  • Facilitate change management processes, including restructuring and TUPE transfers.
  • Provide proactive HR customer service, managing staff queries and staff development matters.
  • Assist with job analysis, evaluation, and staff development events.
  • Stay up to date with employment law and FE developments to ensure compliance.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act.
  • Ensure continuous safeguarding compliance and undertake First Aid training.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives and assist with policy/procedure reviews.
  • Support the Collegeā€™s values and policies, ensuring adherence to health and safety, safeguarding, and equality.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Hold a full/part CIPD qualification, or a Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent level qualification.
  • Proficient in IT (Word, Excel, email, internet).
  • Level 2 English & Maths qualifications.
  • Significant experience in providing professional HR advice and guidance to managers and staff.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience in contributing to successful HR projects and initiatives.
