We are working with a leading education provider who are recruiting a HR Advisor for a 1 month temporary position based in Cambridge, starting asap.

On a day-to-day basis you will be involved with:

  • Coordinating the recruitment, selection, induction and probation processes
  • Advising and supporting managers with cases, leading on process, Occupational Health referrals and written accounts of reviews
  • Advising and supporting investigations, disciplinary and grievance processes, co-ordinating meetings, providing written notes and letters
  • Facilitating change where there are HR implications i.e., restructuring, TUPE transfer etc.
  • Supporting the HR Administrators with the completion of administration for the HR Service including issuing of contracts of employment, providing information to Payroll and ensuring the HRMS and other monitoring sources are updated.
  • Continuous compliance with safeguarding requirements through keeping up to date on changes to legislation.Ensuring that safeguarding requirements for the department are adhered to, including the maintenance of the Single Central Record, DBS processing and coordination of safeguarding training.
  • Contributing to the completion of designated HR projects or as required by the HR Business Partners.
  • Coordinating and undertaking process for on-boarding new staff to the organisation and off-boarding e.g. exit interviews.
  • Assisting with reviewing HR policies/procedures and actively contributing ideas for improvements to ensure legal compliance and supporting the best interests of the policy users.
  • Supporting the delivery of in-house training and development for managers in HR practice.

What we are looking for:

  • Significant experience of providing professional advice and guidance to managers and staff in the full range of HR issues,ideally within the education sector.
  • Knowledge and skills in developing HR policies and procedures
  • Experience of contributing to successful projects/initiatives
  • Experience of working with employee representatives and trade unions

This is initiallya one monthtemporary contract offering a rate of 25.00-35.00 per hour, dependent on skills and experience. Hybrid working - 3 days a week in the office and 2 days working from home.
