Role Overview:

As a Senior IT Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing, supporting, and enhancing the company's IT infrastructure and systems, whilst providing onsite support to staff and students. You will provide technical expertise, lead complex projects, and ensure the smooth operation of IT services across the organisation. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and be part of a collaborative and innovative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery: Lead and contribute to IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and cloud transformations.
  • Technical Support: Provide 3rd line support, troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues across systems and applications.
  • Cloud & Virtualisation: Manage cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and virtualisation platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Network & Security: Oversee network infrastructure and implement security best practices to protect business data.
  • Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Support and mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior IT Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, Office 365, and Exchange.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure, AWS, or other cloud platforms.
  • Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
  • Solid understanding of network protocols, firewall management, and security frameworks.
  • Experience with PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting languages.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
