Role: Test Team Lead

Location: Cambridge (on-site)

Salary: £55k - £65k

Join a pioneering life-science start-up of 4 years and plenty of investment based in Cambridge, they are at the forefront of single-cell analysis technology. They have developed a revolutionary record-breaking device / platform that manipulates microscopic droplets that test drug treatments on cells, such as cancer, with the aim of accelerating effective treatments to save lives.

This is a great opportunity to work on impactful technology that can change and help save lives.

They are currently looking for a Test Team Lead to join a team of 7 under the head of Engineering to lead the team with the view to growing it further.

The role will see you ensure that both the embedded and desktop applications are produced to the highest standards by implementing test strategies and procedures and attempt to break things.

It’s a varied role where you’ll be responsible for strategic direction, team leadership whilst maintaining hands-on involvement, working in an agile manner with frequent releases.

You’ll have the opportunity to cover multiple technologies and testing techniques working with others improving quality and testability of products. Working along side the engineering and biology teams you will identify areas of risk and focus whilst using varied technology including novel Hardware control, machine learning, complex image analysis and visualisation applications.

Responsibilities:

Owning the test strategy moving forward in a hands-on testing environment all the way through to release.

Leading and mentoring test individuals in the team whilst contributing test perspective within meetings to improve testability of solutions in requirement clarification.

Ensuring complex concepts are understood and translated into well tested, high-quality code.

You’ll have:

5 years plus experience testing software or Hardware solutions with proven experience of driving test strategy covering a range of applications

Ability co-co-ordinating testing of complex systems from identification to reporting, with experience of both scripted and unscripted testing (Manual and Automation)

Understanding test techniques, coding (C#, Python)
