ROLE – Product Design EngineerLOCATION – CambridgeTERM - PermanentSALARY - £35,000 to £45,000 per annumPremier Group are currently recruiting for a Product Designer to join the design team of a company working within the design of retail displays and furniture. You will be taking a leading role on the projects and assuming a large amount of responsibility. The materials in use would be a mix of metal, plastic, wood as well as design for 3D printing.Ideally, we would like you to:
  • Be skilled in using 2D and 3D CAD software
  • Be able to create models / prototypes
  • Be technically minded
  • Have a product design/ engineering related degree
  • Have experience designing products/ projects from concept to completion
  • Strong Design for Manufacture skills
Responsibilities:
  • Develop your ideas from concept to production.
  • Sketch ideas and develop concepts.
  • Create models/prototypes.
  • Do market research, visit clients and listen to their feedback.
  • Use all manufacturing processes.
  • View and review tooling trials – potential for overseas travel.
  • Quality test new products
