We are seeking a talentedAdditive Manufacturing Research Engineerto join our client's cutting-edge research team based inCambridge.This opportunity involves developing high-temperature materials and advancing additive manufacturing through experimental and simulation methods.

As an Additive Manufacturing Research Engineer, you will:

Experimental Work:

  • Research & Development:Contribute to the development of innovative additive manufacturing processes and techniques.
  • Laboratory Maintenance:Ensure the upkeep and optimisation of laboratory equipment, particularly PBF/EBM systems.
  • Experimental Design:Develop and execute experiments to investigate the fundamental aspects of additive manufacturing processes.
  • Data Analysis:Analyse experimental data using statistical methods to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Process Optimisation:Optimise process parameters for a variety of materials to achieve desired outcomes.

Simulation Work:

  • Simulation:Utilise simulation tools to model and predict the behaviour of additive manufacturing processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Additive Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
  • Experience / Knowledge of laser powder bed or electron beam technology.
  • Exposure to Python.
  • Strong understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.
  • Experience with simulation software.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
