This is a variable-hours role, requiring approximately 45 hours of work over the academic year. You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the quality of Apprenticeship and Adult learning programmes in Catering and Hospitality, supporting the development of aspiring chefs and hospitality professionals.Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead internal quality assurance (IQA) activities, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment are maintained.
  • Support curriculum development and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body requirements, college policies, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the Work-Based Learning Manager and Head of Department to enhance the learning experience for apprentices and adult learners.
  • Prepare for and manage external quality assurance visits, including End-Point Assessments.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with employers, providing feedback and supporting learners’ development.
  • Maintain accurate records, track learner progress, and ensure timely registration with awarding bodies.
  • Mentor staff completing assessor awards and support their professional development.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
  • Level 3 vocational qualification in a relevant field and a Level 3 TAQA or equivalent IQA qualification (e.g., A1).
  • Recent experience in training, assessing, and quality assurance within a Further Education or training environment.
  • Knowledge of apprenticeship standards, Health & Safety legislation, and current vocational qualification systems.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable:
  • Level 4 Leading IQA qualification or leadership/management qualifications.
  • Experience working with e-Portfolios and managing caseloads of learners.
  • Familiarity with awarding organisation codes of practice.
Special Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during holiday periods if required.
  • A valid driving licence with business-use insurance or alternative means of travel.
