Role: Lead Data Analyst

Join a pioneering life-science start-up of 4 years and plenty of investment based in Cambridge, they are at the forefront of single-cell analysis technology. They have developed a revolutionary ground-breaking device / platform that manipulates microscopic droplets that test drug treatments on cells, such as cancer, with the aim of accelerating effective treatments to save lives.

They require a Lead Data Analyst to work closely with the science and software team led by the head of engineering in leading a team of 3.

You will be a strategic leader and help the company strategy for image and data handling, analysing complex biology work-flows for both numeric and 2D image data, helping prototype novel detection algorithms. You’ll design, develop and evaluate these data forms often approaching TBytes of data, in particular, cell brightfield and fluorescence signal detection.

You will define analysis strategy for image and data handling and work closely with the biology team to understand cell therapy interactions and convert these to software requirements, whilst working with the software team to develop new / novel algorithms for image signal capture and data handling.

You’ll have a solid understanding of large-scale numeric data and 2D image analysis using heuristics or machine learning, AI methods, with experience of development of complex algorithms, typically in Python, but they are development language agnostic, if you have a better idea.

You’ll ideally have experience leading a small team and have a strong background in mathematics and computer science, a Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science - a PhD would be a bonus.
