Job Title: Criminal Duty Solicitor

Overview:We are looking for a qualified Criminal Duty Solicitor to provide legal advice and representation for clients in criminal matters. You will represent clients at police stations and magistrates' courts, handling a wide range of criminal cases from minor offences to serious crimes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advise and represent clients at police stations under the Duty Solicitor Scheme.
  • Appear in magistrates courts for bail applications, plea hearings, and trials.
  • Prepare cases, including reviewing evidence, drafting legal documents, and instructing counsel.
  • Conduct advocacy in court and manage a varied caseload.
  • Stay up-to-date with criminal law and legal aid processes.

Requirements:

  • Qualified solicitor with Criminal Duty Solicitor accreditation.
