Our client, an investment management group with a global footprint and Headquarter in Hong Kong, engages

in extensive range of multi-asset class, multi-strategy investments in traditional financial and digital assets, is

looking for a Legal Counsel specializing in corporate/commercial law to join in Cambridge (onsite).

Responsibilities:

  1. Corporate and Commercial Legal Support -provide legal support on a range of corporate and commercial matters, including contract drafting, review, and negotiation for asset management activities and family office transactions.
  2. Transactions and property acquisiton legal support -provide legal support for transactions such asM&A and property acquisitons, including drafting legal documents and supervising and coordinatingwith exertnal law firms.
  3. Management Team and Family Office Advisory -offer legal support and guidance on personal affairs and investment structures for the management team and family office members, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory frameworks.
  4. License and Regulatory Compliance -manage license applications and regulatory compliance to ensure adherence to relevant UK laws and standards.
  5. Investment and Risk Management -identify and assess legal risks related to investment transactions, including risk mitigation strategies to safeguard assets and uphold fiduciary responsibilities.
  6. Governance and Corporate Structure -oversee corporate governance practices, including board documentation, company secretarial duties, and structuring of family office investments to ensure proper compliance and governance.
  7. Stakeholder Relations- coordinate with internal stakeholders, external advisors, and regulatory authorities to maintain smooth legal operations and facilitate compliance with asset management and family office standards.
  8. Data Privacy, IP, and Tax Implication -advise on data privacy, intellectual property, and tax considerations ensuring legal compliance and asset protection.

Qualifications:

Education:Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) or above; UK-qualified solicitor preferred.

Experience:5+ years of PQE in practice area of asset management, private wealth, or family office settings with a focus on corporate/commercial law. Prefer candidates trained in big law firms.

Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an ability to balance multiple priorities within a complex legal environment.

Language: Professionally fluent English. Mandarin is a must.
