Engineering Manager Cambridge / WFH to £90k

Do you have experience of coaching and mentoring Agile Team Leads, fostering supported, high performance development teams to deliver high quality software?

You could be progressing your career in an impactful Engineering Manager role, as part of a friendly and supportive team working on game changing technology for the farming and agricultural community. Since their launch in 2016 they've seen high revenue streams and have long term financial support to reach the mission of making farming profitable and sustainable, using technology and data to drive improvements.

As an Engineering Manager you'll focus on strategically guiding, aligning and empowering four Agile engineering teams, with the Team Leads as your direct reports. You'll liaise with business stakeholders to provide technical direction that aligns with company ambitions, whilst ensuring a culture where engineers feel supported, encouraged and focussed and everyone is collaborating to ensure delivery of the company's mission.

There's a modern tech stack, primarily built on Python with JavaScript / TypeScript, Vue.js, PostgreSQL, Redis and CI/CD.

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the Cambridge office twice a month.

About you:

  • You have experience of coaching and mentoring software engineering teams / leads
  • You have a software engineering background with a strong understanding of modern software engineering best practices and Agile ways of working
  • You have experience of making process improvements
  • You have experience of collaborating with business stakeholders and contributing to strategy
  • You have excellent coaching, mentoring and people management skills
