Position: Site Manager

Salary: Up to £55,000 plus package

Location: Cambridge

gap construction is proud to represent a leading Main Contractor known for its commitment to quality construction in their search for a Site Manager. This role will be based on a prestigious refurbishment and new build project worth approximately £6 million, located just outside Cambridge.

Performance Objectives:

  • Ensure all health, safety, and environmental procedures are consistently maintained on-site.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Manage subcontractors, communicating daily to ensure work aligns with project plans and quality standards.
  • Monitor utility usage to control costs and stay within budget.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Project Manager and other site managers to provide updates on progress, concerns, and actions being taken.
  • Ensure accurate site records are maintained.
  • Oversee the safe execution of work on-site and ensure compliance with the company's policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Quality Assurance, and CDM regulations.
  • Conduct regular site safety audits, report observations, investigate anomalies, and review risk assessments and method statements.

Person Specification:

  • A keen eye for detail with the ability to anticipate and minimise disruptions to the project.
  • Well-presented and able to act as the key interface with clients and stakeholders.
  • Strong technical construction skills with relevant training certifications.
  • A commitment to the company's ethos and a personal approach to contracting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with clients and the supply chain.
  • Highly self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude to drive project success.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, reporting to the Project Manager and managing junior staff.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
