Reed Engineering in Cambridge are excited to be working with one of the worlds most renowned establishments who are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineer to join their Engineering department. This role is crucial for ensuring high levels of service by delivering planned maintenance, service and reactive repair work for all electro-mechanical equipment. The Electro-Mechanical Engineer will also recommend and implement improvements to enhance production efficiency and reliability.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Adhere to health and safety standards in all activities and promote safe working practices.
  • Deliver periodic and condition-based preventative maintenance schedules for all electro-mechanical equipment to maintain high levels of reliability and maximise efficiency.
  • Conduct 1st Level reactive service and repair work, diagnosing issues promptly and efficiently, utilising OEM/third party support where required.
  • Work with operations teams to offer engineering expertise in the design and delivery of improvements for electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Undertake risk assessments for all electro-mechanical equipment in liaison with the Engineering Manager.
  • Maintain professional competence, including training and development as appropriate.
  • Ensure procedure and maintenance records are maintained and audit technical support documentation for accuracy and availability.
  • Catalogue and audit technical spares and consumables, making recommendations and undertaking spares ordering as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum of Level 3 qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
  • Understanding of PLC programming logic.
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematic drawings.
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Electrical and Mechanical aptitude, with knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits and controls.
  • Experience with installation and support of PLC systems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy, encompassing current MS Office Applications.
  • Experience in high-quality and high-volume environments, with secure and safe systems of working (highly desirable).
  • Experience with CMMS systems (desirable).
