About Our Client:

Our client is looking for an exceptional engineer to join their team and help launch their exciting new technologies. They are seeking someone to work with their innovative specialist robots, featuring autonomous navigation and dexterous capabilities.

Role Overview:

  • Balance performance and cost, making trade-offs and de-risking key functionalities to meet targets.
  • Diverse and dynamic workload typical of a start-up environment, from initial concept development and prototyping to design-for-manufacture of subsystems.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with lead engineers to design, build, and test prototypes.
  • Assist design engineers with analytical tasks.
  • Manage projects from concept to scale, delivering new functionality to the robot fleet.
  • Work with suppliers and the manufacturing team to establish SOPs, build documentation, and quality control processes.

Desirable Characteristics:

  • 0-5 years of experience.
  • Flexibility in handling various tasks, such as assembling and evaluating prototypes, designing mechanical assemblies, developing SOPs, and defining cable routings and drawings.
  • Proficiency in analysis and design software (e.g., MS Excel, MATLAB/Octave); experience with CAD software (e.g., Autodesk Inventor) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills with a pragmatic approach.
  • A completer-finisher mindset with a willingness to take responsibility for overall project delivery.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently.
  • Excellent communication skills for discussing ideas and decisions with diverse stakeholders.
  • Practical and pragmatic approach to validating ideas during the design process.
  • Beneficial skills include GD&T, tolerance analysis, and structural FEA.
