Premier Engineering is seeking a Graduate Mechanical Engineer to join a leading engineering company based in Cambridge. This role is ideal for a recent graduate looking to develop their skills in mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing within a dynamic environment.
The Graduate Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- A degree (BEng/MEng) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals
- Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
- Understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical components
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Eagerness to learn and develop within an engineering environment
- Experience with FEA, CFD, or hands-on engineering projects (desirable)
- Assisting in the design and development of mechanical components and systems
- Creating 3D models and technical drawings using CAD software
- Conducting engineering calculations and analysis to ensure design feasibility
- Supporting the manufacturing and testing of prototypes
- Collaborating with engineers on product development and process improvements
- Assisting in technical documentation and project reporting
- Engaging in training and mentorship to build technical expertise
