Premier Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join a leading company in Cambridge that specialises in electro-mechanical products. This role involves designing and developing precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components, working closely with engineering, R&D, and manufacturing teams to bring innovative products to market.

The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
  • A degree or HND/HNC in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • Experience in mechanical and electro-mechanical design
  • Strong 3D CAD skills (SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar)
  • Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and product assembly
  • Understanding of electro-mechanical integration and product lifecycle development
  • Ability to produce detailed technical drawings, GD&T, and BOMs
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an innovative mindset
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or R&D environment
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
