Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Required:

We’re working with a National M&E Consultant who’re significantly growing. They’re looking for a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead Mechanical on a diverse portfolio of projects.

This office in particular have been awarded positions on a number of major frameworks. Their projects span from High Spec Residential, Uni Campuses, Hospitals to sometimes Life Science & Data-Centre projects.

They’re looking for a Principal Mechanical / Design Engineer to support the Branch Director in managing clients. Leading technically in design meetings and supporting more junior staff. This role offers progression into more Senior titles in the near future.Principal Mechanical Design Engineer Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstrate reasonable knowledge in Mechanical & Electrical engineering
  • Actively commit to developing specialist skills in one or more disciplines
  • Continued development via CPD's of all relevant disciplines
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness on a project basis
  • Detailed and accurate calculations and drawings in relevant disciplines
  • Confident presenting skills
  • Develop, present and deliver technical solutions in accordance with client brief
  • Liaise with Clients, Architects and other members of the external design team
  • Supporting other members of the project teams
  • Working and delivering designs within program time scales
  • Maintain overview of project work and provide updates as and when required to line manager/project manager
  • Report any feedback or issues concerning the project from clients
  • Develop relationships with external team members for Business Development opportunities
