Kameo Recruitment is excited to be partnering with a reputable educational institution in Cambridge to recruit a Tutorial Office Manager. In this role, the Tutorial Office Manager will provide essential administrative support to the Senior Tutor and Deputy Senior Tutor while overseeing the efficient running of the Tutorial Office.

Hours of work: Full time, 100% on site

As well as managing a small team the duties and responsibilities of the Tutorial Office Manager will include: -

  • Co-ordinating the flow of information between the Tutorial Office, students, tutors, Directors of Studies and other departments
  • Identifying and acting on opportunities for devising more efficient administrative systems
  • Oversight of all arrangements for induction, exams, tutorial support, admissions, graduations
  • Keeping track of the Tutorial inbox to ensure prompt responses to queries
  • Holding regular progress meetings, completing annual appraisals and arranging appropriate training for Tutorial staff
  • Recruitment of postgraduates or other temporary staff as required (e.g. for exam invigilation)
  • Working with the Senior Tutor and the Deputy Senior Tutor on implementing updates and improvements to policy in the Tutorial Office.
  • Assisting the Senior Tutor and the Deputy Senior Tutor in providing guidance for new tutors, and helping all tutors in the handling of complex tutorial cases
  • Communicating regularly with committees including scheduling of and attendance at meetings with the Senior Tutor and/or the Deputy Senior Tutor
  • Preparing the agenda and minutes for the termly Committee meetings
  • Exam Administration including liaising with students about their exam arrangements
  • Funding and Financial, working with the Senior Tutor, the Deputy Senior Tutor and the Finance Tutor of all matters relating to undergraduate and postgraduate finance, including setting the Tutorial budget and assisting in keeping up to date with the bursaries and grants

Requirements for the Tutorial Office Manager

  • Must have relevant experience in a Higher Education environment
  • Have demonstrable experience of managing a small team.
  • Ideally have worked in a tutorial or admissions office
  • Degree educated or equivalent
  • You will have a confident and positive outlook with a strong sense of personal responsibility and resilience
  • Excellent organisational skills are a must as well as the ability to forward plan and prioritise
  • Excellent written & verbal communication to all levels of staff
