Reed Further are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lecturer in Bricklaying to join a dynamic construction department at a leading educational institution in Cambridge. The successful candidate will be instrumental in delivering high quality teaching and learning across various bricklaying programmes and will play a key role in the course design and development, contributing significantly to the growth of the department.

Job Title: Bricklaying Lecturer

Position: Full-time, 37 hours

Role type: Permanent

Location: Cambridge, CB4

Salary: £27,400 to £40,000 per annum

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Deliver inspirational teaching and learning to students of varying ages and abilities.
  • Develop and maintain teaching materials, including handouts, assignments, and electronic resources.
  • Prepare Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
  • Act as a course tutor, supporting learners in achieving their targets.
  • Track and review student progress, maintaining accurate records.
  • Participate in internal and external promotional events to publicise department activities.
  • Develop industrial links and maintain professional practice in the field of bricklaying.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum Level 3 vocational qualification in Bricklaying.
  • GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Certificate in Education, PGCE, DTLLS, or DET or willingness to obtain.
  • Assessor qualifications and Internal Verification qualification are desirable.
  • Industrial experience in Bricklaying or Construction Maintenance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Current knowledge of health and safety regulations in the industry.
