Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) - NHS Contract in Cambridge


Location: Cambridge
Contract: Agency - NHS
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Rate: 26.50 per hour (Umbrella)


Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting for an experienced Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join an NHS Neighbourhood Team in Cambridge on an agency contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the community while working within a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to deliver high-quality mental health care.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct, face-to-face assessments for individuals with significant mental health conditions.
  • Offer mental health interventions and support to both service users and their carers.
  • Work collaboratively with the Mental Health Integrated Care Team to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Participate in MDT meetings and contribute to shared care planning.
  • Offer advice and guidance to colleagues on common mental health conditions.
  • Ensure accurate and thorough documentation of assessment outcomes, treatment goals, and care plans in collaboration with patients and carers.
  • Support the safe administration and supervision of prescribed medications, following all professional guidelines and policies.
  • (If applicable) Act as a Supplementary Non-Medical Prescriber, providing specialist advice in non-medical prescribing and medication management.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to colleagues and learners within the Neighbourhood Team.
  • Contribute to the development of skills and knowledge in mental health care within the team.


Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with valid NMC registration.
  • Previous experience as a CPN in a community or similar setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health care pathways, including dementia and functional illness.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of medication management and ability to supervise prescribed treatments.
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills.
