Job Title: Locum ACT Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient Dispensary
Location: Cambridge, NHS Hospital
Contract: 6 Months (with possible extension)
Hours: Full-time (Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm, 30-minute lunch break) – Part-time considered
Pay: £16 - £21 per hour, Band 5 level
Payment via: Umbrella

Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and professional Locum ACT Pharmacy Technician to join our NHS clients' Inpatient Dispensary team at a reputable NHS hospital in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to inpatient services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately dispense medications to hospital patients as part of the inpatient pharmacy service.
  • Work collaboratively with the pharmacy and healthcare teams to ensure safe, efficient, and effective use of medicines.
  • Provide pharmaceutical advice and support to patients and clinical staff as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication usage and dispensing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Support in the management of medication stock, including ordering, storing, and stock rotation.

Requirements:

  • Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Relevant qualifications and experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience in an inpatient hospital setting (preferable).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with patients and healthcare professionals.

Additional Information:

  • This role is initially offered as a 6-month locum contract, with the potential for extension.
  • Working hours are Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm with a 30-minute lunch break. Part-time options may be considered for the right candidate.
  • Pay rate is competitive at £16 - £21 per hour, dependent on experience, in line with Band 5 NHS rates.
  • Payment is via Umbrella company.
