Main Purpose of RoleThe Plumber/Fitter will handle both reactive and planned maintenance for heating, ventilation, drainage, water, and gas services. Responsibilities include installations, fault reporting, and general support.Main Responsibilities

  • Repair, adjust, and fault-find heating plant and controls.
  • Perform routine maintenance on boiler plant and services.
  • Alter and improve heating, ventilation, and plumbing systems.
  • Conduct small fabrications using gas and arc welding.
  • Repair lead pipes, gutters, and roofs.
  • Collaborate with other trades to deliver services as a team.
  • Attend relevant courses and maintain GAS SAFE registration if applicable.
  • Cover for absent staff and respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
  • Undertake other relevant duties as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONKnowledge and Experience

  • Completed apprenticeship with City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ L2 in mechanical or plumbing.
  • Relevant post-apprenticeship experience in mechanical building services.
  • GAS SAFE registration is desirable; willingness to attend training if not registered.

  • Able to work in confined spaces and at height.
