Reed Further Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Apprenticeships Placement Officer to join the work based learning team at a further education college in Cambridge. This role is crucial in providing high quality training, coaching, mentoring, instruction and assessment to help learners achieve their apprenticeship and/or qualification in a timely manner.

This role will require regular travel to organisations around Cambridgeshire and surrounding counties, so it is essential that you hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to own transport.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Act as the main point of contact for employers and learners, fostering positive relationships and providing feedback on progress.
  • Deliver high-quality training, coaching, and assessment both in college and at the learners’ workplaces.
  • Assess learners’ readiness for the apprenticeship programme and establish individual learning plans.
  • Design and implement training plans that develop learners’ knowledge, skills, and behaviours.
  • Support learners through the End Point Assessment (EPA) process.
  • Ensure compliance with college and awarding organisation standards and quality assurance processes.
  • Provide guidance on health and safety, safeguarding, and equality and diversity.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Maths and English to at least GCSE grade 4.
  • Level 3 qualification and relevant vocational CPD.
  • Experience in working with young people aged 16 to 19.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of learners effectively.
  • Knowledge of current apprenticeship schemes and End Point Assessment.
  • Experience of working with employers in a professional capacity.
